Ingredients:
For the biscuit dough:
250g butter
60ml vegetable oil
200g powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
¼ tsp baking powder
1 packet of vanilla sugar
500g all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
For decoration:
100g white sesame seeds
1 egg white
100g apricot jam
Preparation:
1️⃣ Prepare the biscuit dough
In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, powdered sugar, vegetable oil, salt, and vanilla sugar.
Mix a small amount of baking powder with the flour and gradually add it to the mixture.
Knead everything together until you get a smooth, well-incorporated dough.
Add the two egg yolks and continue kneading until the dough is soft and crumbly.
2️⃣ Chill the dough
Place the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to help it firm up, making it easier to handle.
3️⃣ Shape the biscuits
Once chilled, roll the dough into thin logs.
Brush them evenly with egg white, then coat them with sesame seeds (white or brown, depending on what you have available).
Press the sesame seeds firmly onto the dough to ensure they stick well.
Cut the dough into small biscuit pieces and place a teaspoon of apricot jam on top of each one.
4️⃣ Baking
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake the biscuits for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden and fully cooked.
5️⃣ Cooling and serving
Once done, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool completely. This will help them firm up and develop a crunchy texture.
